| Physical Description | Blue cod, as the name suggests, feature a blue-green colouring which changes as the fish matures. Adult males are blue with green sides. Females are spotted with a shade of green. Juveniles have a large white stripe on the their sides |
| Location / Habitat | Most common in the colder waters around the South Island and to the east around the Chatham Islands. Blue Cod are bottom-dwellers, found up to a depth of 150m. |
